My Artistic Journey
My professional art career began in 2010, marking the start of an incredible journey that has taken me across the globe. Over the years, I've had the privilege of sharing my work in numerous exhibitions and art auctions, and I've been fortunate enough to have my art represented by some of the most esteemed fine art galleries. MEET THE ARTIST
Jimmy Law
I am a contemporary artist, painter, and sculptor from Cape Town, South Africa. I specialize in portraiture, figurative work, nudes, and sculpting.
Since childhood, I have been passionate about drawing and creating. After studying graphic design, I ventured into various artistic businesses, from clothing design to customizing cars and illustrating comic books. It wasn’t until I was 35 that I began focusing more on painting.
Inspired by the human face, I began painting movie characters and celebrities in grayscale, marking the start of my professional career. Over time, I expanded to full color, larger pieces, and artistic nudes, continuously experimenting with new materials and techniques.
My unique style emerged with a tool that mimics palette knife strokes, blending expressive, realistic, abstract, and design elements. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I created my first astronaut art, combining realism with conceptual elements of nature.
In 2022, I ventured into sculpting, producing my first bronze sculpture based on an astronaut painting. Working in three dimensions offers a new perspective, and I plan to create more sculptures.
As a contemporary artist, I am committed to pushing boundaries and experimenting with new techniques and materials to advance my art.
